The Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, now in its 61st year, presents four operas by Lucca’s composer across sixteen evenings beginning on July 24th and ending on August 31st. They are Tosca, Turandot, Madama Butterfly and Il Trittico. Madama Butterfly (August 8th ) have singers Svetla Vassileva (Butterfly), Sergio Escobar and Rubens Pellizzari (Pinkerton), Laura Brioli and Mariella Guarnera (Suzuki); Alberto Mastromarino (Sharpless). Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts. Stage sets by Renzo Giacchieri. In the program, as part of the Festival, there are also contemporary art exhibitions and events.
