Auditorium “Vincenzo Da Massa Carrara”
AUDITORIUM Porcari, named after Vincenzo Da Massa Carrara, is active since four years; it is the place where activities are offered to encourage the cultural growth of its community. It promotes, organizes and conducts theater performances, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and other popular initiatives.
The excellent acoustics of the Auditorium create an environment suited to host concerts of classical and symphonic music: this year’s program includes concerts of Ensemble Guidantus who performed music by Vivaldi, the duo of piano and violin Bruno Canino and Paul Ardinghi; April 24th will be the turn of Soloists Orchestra Arché while on May 2nd Roberto Presepi will conduct the concert of the Orchestra of Young Musicians of Enrico Pea school in Porcari, with the fairy tale set to music “De Porcaria” based on Piero Nannini’s text and music of master Fabrizio Datteri. In opera scene two concerts were held: “Memoirs of Puccini” and “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni organized by the Music Friends Association.
May 8th and 9th will host the 1st National Musical Competition “City of Porcari” reserved for middle school students; this event will be attended by nine schools coming from Cuneo, Vicenza, Rimini in addition to those of Lucca for a total of more than 300 kids involved in nine different musical disciplines. A real highlight.
All this is related just to classical and opera music which are flanked by amateur theater, variety shows, theater for children and concerts of modern music including Rock Festival scheduled for June 17th and 18th.
